I am so happy to be able to join with other animal lovers. I live in Mass. and lately we've had a couple of terrible abuse cases. One, I'm sure, you've probably read about. At a party someone, as a joke?, put a yorky into a washing machine and put it through a cycle. Hopefully the dog died quickly. The next story was a fool had a fight with his girlfriend and through her chichichua from the 3rd flr. window. The dog is now in the care of the SPCA. The one good thing I learned in reading these stories is that animal cruelty in Mass. is a felony and has been since 2004 and has a 5 year jail sentence and a $2500. fine. We're on the way to doing something about animal abuse. Now to work on puppy mills.

We can only hope that when they get to prision, "The Guy's" will get them like they do with child molesters. They sure deserve it. Don't be a bit surprised, Texas Dar, if they don't catch it when they reside in the "gray bar motel" - you'd be amazed how many cons there are inside that are animal lovers. (Wonder how Michael Vick is doing? heh.) Periodically, Animal Planet shows programs that pair abused animals needing rehabilitation with cons who are undergoing rehab themselves (the well-behaved ones; those nearing the end of their sentences and awaiting release, mostly). These cons are guided by professionals from outside shelters to work with these animals - everything from special needs dogs/cats/bovine to horses. It brings a special feeling to the con and the bond between human and animal is once again restored. Kinda makes your eyes water that some good has come of the pain.

thanks - i will check this resource regularly. from this I just read about an incident in my area...(y i trust NOBODY around my pups) "....Jones was walking his dog when a neighbors dog (Brutus) exited an open gate in his owner's yard and "sniffed" Jones' dog. Jones then pulled out his gun and shot Brutus once through the neck though there was no attack on himself or his dog, police said. Brutus survived the shooting. Because Jones is a former police officer, state law allows him to carry a firearm." ....seething again!!!!!!

Again, this is the right time to use the Law from the Bible. Crimes like this would slow way down if the ones that did this got the same thing that they did to the dogs. What you do, you get back in return. It's only fair, "Right"......? And, age plays no part in this either. If yr old enought to cary out such a crime, yr old enought to recieve it. And careyd out in public too. Only cowards, hurt anmials, woman, and children. And the Bible says nothing about some "Piece-of-Sh%t lawyer" looking for 15 mi. of fame either. For lesser crimes, hanging in the public square would be nice too. Punishment # 1-2 seem a better choice thoe. The pain would last a lot longer with my way's. We can only hope that when they get to prision, "The Guy's" will get them like they do with child molesters. They sure deserve it.

I agree. Just like sex offenders are required to report where they are living, then you know if you have one in your neighborhood so should people that abuse animals. There needs to be stricter ongoing monitoring of people with this propensity of such hideous violence. I ran across a website that posts animal abuse nationally, they also have my local atrocity listed there too, it's at: http://www.pet-abuse.com/cases/14414/OR/US/ I think if you go to the home page of that you can then find your local area of the country and find out what's going on. I have to warn everyone it's quite shocking to see just how many reported cases there are in this country. To think of those that go unreported. Just looking through the 'most read' section is so disturbing. I never realized how many abuse cases until you see them all spelled out like that. Time to get my head out of the clouds.

Nice follow-up Roo. I would further hope that local people divulge the youth's name (as well as the unknown female's). Youth's names should not be withheld in crimes such as this. Stats show that violent criminals started abusing animals while young....people should know who to keep an eye on in the future...and shame worn on their forehead. and that's as civil as i can be about this!!!

in this country there once was a long line of whale hunters who at sometime had to find something else to occupy their time. so to be courteous, i will only wish you might consider another hobby. a gradual step may be hunt with a bowie knife (loose the gun sharpshooter).

Camslab, I appreciate your thoughts about being vegetarian but I am a carnivore. Further, I enjoy eating meat and find it rather offensive to continually read how terrible I must be because I do eat meat. We come from a long line of hunters. My dad used to go way up north for Deer, Pheasant and Duck during the appropriate season. He was the old fashioned type who always believed that you don't kill an animal unless you intend to eat it and you use every available part for something (feathers for hats which were fashionable at the time, skins for warmth - many blankets were made over the years, guts etc. ground up for compost, etc.) If you wish to be vegan, more power to you, but please appreciate that not everyone is or wants to be vegan. To each his own...

Why dose God let this happen..........? He dont. Man dose this. God, only looks down on us, and what we do. God, only makes the bad people pay, for what they have done. But, im sure God takes the Sole & Spirit, from the child, woman, and Anmials, before any pain is felt. He better. Just last week, here in the Ozarks, some 95 pets, and 5 kids under 12 were resqued from 2 weman that held them far of the main road. 25 anmials had to have thier sole set free. 3 of the children would of had the same thing done, but they are humans. How Sad. There are times im not to happy with God. But, we do it unto our self's. God only looks down on us, and how were doin........! Im ashamed to have to read all of this. Pain is "Pain-Less", when bad people do bad thing's. It's time to walk away tonight...! OuT

Could you let us know if they catch those b@stards that killed those dogs? I didn't hear about it here in Florida. That's horrible about the dogs and cats in China. I couldn't watch that. -- A Meow Massages the Heart
