Hi, I'm a newbie too, I have been 'clicking to donate' for months didn't find this site until today. We have 3 full time rescued English Springer Spaniels and a month ago volunteered to become foster parents with English Spaniel Rescue due to the frightening number of pets being abandoned in this state when people loose their homes. Our current (first) short stay boy, Flash, has been with us for a month and we have found someone who is willing to give him a safe and loving forever home tomorrow (sob!), and I'm in bits! I want to keep them all - I know in 40 years time I'll be known as the 'Dog Lady'!! Not having had kids, this is as close as we get to watching our 'son' go off with his first girlfriend and already thinking she isn't good enough for him!! However, we know of 4 more just taken from the "E list" at the pound that need help, so we will hopefully pick up at least another 1 this weekend. I love this site and am amazed at the generosity and warmth of its contributors. I am looking forward to being an active member and getting to know you all.

Good morning/evening to everyone. I too am new to the group. I have two four year old male cats that are brothers, Smokey and BillyBob and a ten year old dog, a Shih Tzu named Pudgy. I am glad to have joined this group. There's advice, knowledge and friendship and those three are always good to get or receive. I hope to make good friends. Oh, by the way, how do I post a profile picture? LadyWillow

Hi, I just found the community site recently but have been clicking on rescue site for a while now. I have two beautiful cats. Ginger I rescued from an animal shelter in 1997, she is a lovely orange tabby who is a joy to have around. She loves potato chips and anything sweet. She once ate a rubber band and had to have it removed but that didn't stop her from checking out anything and everything else. Now I watch her closely and have to be careful where I lay anything down.. Now for Mr. Scooter, he was given to me by a neighbor at the age of 6 weeks so I know his true birthday he was born Feb 16, 1997. He is a white with black markings, one shape of a heart on his side. When he was a kitten, he would stand on his back legs and take a step or two, he was so cute. Too bad he can't do that any more. But he still enjoys life. He had to have emergency surgery last Labor Day for bladder stones but is fine now. Both of my babies are a pleasure to be around and give my life joy. Although I have cats, I love all animals and am an animal rights advocate and am glad to be a member of this community and read all about your precious ones.

I've been clicking for several years now and I got an e-mail about this community several days ago and I decided to join today. My Alaskan Malamutes aren't rescues but I am an animal lover and so, as such, I support all the rescues that I can. When (hopefully, not for a very long time) Titan and Loki pass over the rainbow bridge and join the silver harness team, I will definitely get a rescue animal. Having Titan and Loki has made me aware of the unconditional love that an animal gives and I think I am a better person because of them. They have been through a lot and many owners would have had to put them down rather than to pay the large vet bills. But there is no price that I can put on their love and my commitment to them. When I brought them home, it was forever, not just while it was convenient. To me and my husband, they are family, not just a pet and definitely NOT just a dog.

Hi. I have only known about this site for about a month from my best friend. I log on everyday and click the purple button. Believe me, if and when the Animal Rescue Site goes to Canada, I will click on that website daily also!

I have 3 rescued cats. My first cat came from a friend. They had rescued a pregnant momma cat and helped find homes for all the kittens. I got the last kitten left and the most beautiful one too. I adopted my second cat from the pet store. She was there with a rescue group adoption fair. I wasn't looking for a cat but she was so sweet that we decided to get her. My third cat was abandoned by a former neighbor. He moved away and left his cat behind. My third cat is the first male cat in the family. He's new to the family and learning to adjust to life on the inside so to speak. I also have a beautiful blue betta fish. I really like bettas.

Hello Everyone!!Today is my first day.I have a two year old iguanna named Flip.We adopted him from a couple who no longer wanted to take care of him.He is very sweet.love to be rubbed and talked to.Also there is Kiko a 11 yr old cockateil,he came from a petstore I workrd in Pt.He was 6 mths old when he came home.He had such a bad skin problem nobody wanted him.So we went to the vet and got it cleared up.He loves to talk and sig to Flip. Then there is the Kitty of the house,Willow.I got her from a pet store too.It was not long after my siamise(Tasha) died. And there I was walking through the mall and in the pet store window is the smallest black cat with a little crooked mouth all alone and scared. So she came home with me.We also have many fish.So Hi everyone!!!! -- ~Sheri
